Delete your data

Last updated: 10 July 2026

This page explains how to ask EveryDrop to delete your account and the personal data we hold about you, what gets deleted, and what we are required to keep. EveryDrop is operated by EveryDrop SCIO, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Scottish Charity No. SC055401), regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), and is the data controller for your information.

How to request deletion

You can delete your data in either of two ways.

1. From inside the app (deletes your account and data).

  • Open the EveryDrop app and go to your Profile.
  • Scroll to Settings and tap Delete Account.
  • Confirm when prompted. Your account and associated personal data are then deleted as described below. This cannot be undone.

2. By email (if you can't access the app, or want to delete data without closing your account).

  • Email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Delete my data".
  • Tell us whether you want your entire account deleted, or only specific data removed.
  • We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, to protect your account. We will complete your request and confirm by email within 30 days.

What is deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove the personal data we hold about you, including:

  • Your account details — email address, password, chosen display name and avatar.
  • Your journey progress — the days you've completed and your streaks.
  • The cards and badges you've earned.
  • Your notification/reminder token, so we stop sending reminders.
  • Your profile preferences and settings.

What we keep, and for how long

By law we must keep certain records even after your account is deleted. Where we keep them, we retain the minimum needed and, where possible, remove details that identify you personally:

  • Donation and Gift Aid records — amount, charity, and date of donations. We are required to keep these to meet HMRC Gift Aid and UK charity accounting obligations. We retain them for up to 7 years from the end of the relevant financial year, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Where we don't need to link a record to you personally, we anonymise it at the point you delete your account.
  • Records we must keep to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims — kept only for as long as required, then deleted.

We do not keep your account login, journey data, cards, or badges after deletion. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers at any point.

Data held by our providers

We ask the providers who process data on our behalf (such as Google Firebase for authentication and our database, and Stripe for payment processing) to delete the relevant data when we delete your account, subject to the same legal-retention limits above. You can read more about who we work with in our Privacy Policy.
